About Me

Hello!

I'm Em (gemini)

I'm a film/animation student at RISD, I also have my own tattoo practice on the side~ I do a lot of traveling for my tattoos (guesting and touring different Tattoo studios)

I also shoot film photography, which I love doing when I'm traveling.

I'm originally from Reno, NV but I currently live in Providence, RI

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the sense of vulnerability and movement I get when I'm traveling. Couchsurfing takes that to another level! Its so special to be able to explore a new place, but even more so, to experience the spaces that people live in.

Couchsurfing allows me to create relationships and connections with kind and amazing people from all over the world, and that is an amazing experience for me. I love trading, sharing, and learning about other people

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything! Music is so important to me, especially live (DIY) music of all kinds. I love going to see local musicians and (DIY) shows when I'm traveling. It's so cool to experience the different vibes of each place.

I am a film and animation student, so I looove getting movie recommendations!

Books I'm working on right now are The Last Bad Man by Miranda July and Franny and Zoe by JD Salinger. I also love poetry, especially spoken word~

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A trip I reminisce about is when my friend Abby and I decided to hitchhike from Reno, NV to LA.
We hitched rides along Highway one and made it as far as Salinas, but it was such a beautiful experience. It was the first time I really felt like I was traveling, and we got to experience so many moments that felt genuinely peaceful.
It's really hard to be that vulnerable sometimes, and sometimes when I get wrapped up in my day to day I like to think about that trip~ about how freeing it was to not know how far or where we were going to end up, but just trusting that we would get where we needed to go.

(I wrote a short podcast episode about that trip for my friends podcast, Van Sounds, you can listen to it here if you would like!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love trading, and have lots to trade~
Whenever I go on trips, I like to make little projects for myself: collection projects, documentation projects, etc.
I always have my sketchbook, and I am always drawing. I would love to trade some drawings/ zines, anything!

I also do tattoos, and I would be happy to give a tattoo for a place to sleep in return!
