About Me
Hey y'all! I'm a student at Harvard currently taking the semester off to travel, have new experiences, and reflect. I grew up in Hawaii and Georgia, always around the ocean, so I love to surf, swim, kayak, and anything else in the water. I also love to read, with some of my favorite authors being Aldous Huxley and Margaret Atwood. My own mantra is to have an open mind and you will learn and see more than you thought possible :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the moment, I'm working at a hostel in Cascais, and so far it's been so amazing to meet all kinds of travelers and hear their stories, and I hope that Couchsurfing will help me meet even more interesting people and see cool new places.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm pretty open to all kinds of music, but I love rock, soul, and folk music! I also enjoy listening to jazz while I'm working/chilling :)
Books: Utopia by Aldous Huxley; the Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood; A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Movies: The Truman Show (one of the funniest and scariest things you will ever watch); The Imitation Game (SUCH an interesting and important story); Ex Machina (terrifying but so cool); Good Will Hunting (it's about Harvard and super beautiful & touching)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going to Las Fallas Festival in Valencia was hands-down one of the coolest things I've ever done. They spend all year building these massive (like 15m), colorful, intricate sculptures out of papier-mâché, and during the festival they show off their artwork, much of which is political and satirical in nature, against the backdrop of constant firecrackers going off. On the last night of the festival, they burn all of the sculptures, of which there are hundreds! It's an incredible tradition, and was made all the more wonderful by the fact that I spent it with some of my best friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
Because I'm young, there's not much I can teach, though I do have a lot of experience teaching swim lessons! Mostly, I love to learn - languages, stories, skills - and to listen to people's stories. I have a few stories of my own to share, but mostly I'm on Couchsurfing so I can build some new ones :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a warm smile, a listening ear, and hand around the house, along with my own experiences gained through living and traveling.
