About Me

Hellooo, My name is Emily and I am 23 year old female traveling around South America. I lived in Arequipa, Peru for 5 months teaching English and now I am traveling through Chile. I am originally from Maryland, U.S.A. I love meeting traveling and meeting people, speaking Spanish, making my music, writing, camping, hiking , and most things outdoorsy. I'm clean and easy going. I' love seeing a place from a locals perspective!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping to meet other people and not just be a tourist when traveling. I have traveled before around SouthEast Asia and the most rewarding experiences I had where when I stayed in other peoples homes and was shown around by the locals. I am hoping to learn about local culture and meet some cool people. Also, I am learning spanish so if you can help me with that, that would be a plus!

Favorite Movies: Probably Inglorious Bastards

Favorite Books: I love so many! The Grapes of Wrath, anything by Faulkner, any psychology related books (The Lucifer Effect by Philip Zimbardo is one of my favorites), recently I have been reading a lot of creative non-fiction essays by authors such a Joan Didion.
I love to give and exchange books so if you have a good ones you want to trade with me, let me know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked around South East Asia and saw some cool shittt (lots of Buddhas).

Teach, Learn, Share

I have three years of a college education studying psychology and creative writing soo I am good at both of these things and can teach you about how your brain works! I am trying to learn Spanish, so if you can teach me some, that would be great!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, trade books, show you some music I like, teach you a little English, tell you about my life (although this may not be very interesting)
