About Me
Having just graduated from my degree in Geography from the University of Aberystwyth🎓, I am now setting foot out into the wild, wild world. My next step is now to start my new job as an English Language Assistant with the British Council in a small town in the south of France called Istres.
Growing up in the Galapagos islands🏝, Ecuador, and being the daughter of two naturalists provided me with a fascinating perspective of the world. All I knew were the travellers and tourists who would pride me in the beautiful place I call home. Travelling is something I got to discover during my gap year. It gave me a sense of adrenaline and excitment in the journey to visit unkown places and making it my own little adventure. I have lived in many countries and travelled lots with my family however I enjoy the part where i am free to venture where I want on my own and meet new people who are open to newcomers and making new friends and learning different cultures and languages. I enjoy painting🎨 very much, in fact I started my own art business in the Galapagos islands painting murals and surfboards and pretty much any surface someone would commission me to paint on. I also enjoy surfing 🏄🏽♀️ and scuba diving 🤿 as being on an island, they are the most popular activities to do and also the best.
Studying in Wales 🏴 allowed me to retain most of my hobbies; surfing, painting, and eating fish & chips 🐟 🍟 . Whilst it was hard for me to leave my friends and job, I knew it was time for me to move on. I’m excited for this next step in my journey 🌍.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I made a Danish friend during my gap year back in the Galapagos who volunteered with me in the dive center I was working at. She inspired me to travel out of comfort zones and to check out the couchsurfing website which I found to be a great way of getting to know a place like a local.
It turns out I didn’t need to use it at the time I made my account. However, now that I’m no longer bound to the ties of education, I’m going back to my old self and travel/live in one of my most favorite counties, France.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy listening to all kinds of music. Looking through my Spotify playlist right now, I see that I listen to pretty much 70s and 80s rock music (ELO, Beatles, Queen, Aerosmith, etc.), Reggaeton, Jazz, Indie, and a lot of Ska! My favorite movies are The Before Trilogy (#diehardromantic), Le Grand Bleu, Captain Fantastic, Les Intouchables, Into the Wild, Boy (by Taika Waititi), and honestly so many others. I love movies. My favorite books fall amongst the mostly factual, biographical or geographical/historical books. Within the list of books I’ve read are: Into the Wild, The Galapagos Affair, The Geography of Bliss, The Power of Now, The Wonder Society, The Voyage of the Beagle, The Conquest of the Incas, and most recently Knulp by Herman Hesse. Just to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I became a PADI Rescue Scuba Diver at 18!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy teaching people the languages I know! I absolutely love cooking, especially my home recipes from Ecuador. I play a little bit of guitar and always take my longboard everywhere I go. I’m willing to teach people that life on wheels is so much fun!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I dance a little salsa and I also make a banging good salsa and guacamole 🥑
