Overview
About Me
Typically, when people are describing themselves, they say their name, what they do, and maybe a hobby or two. I think that's just our default response. When asked to describe yourself, how do you amount all of your life experiences that made you into who you are into a few sentences? Basically, what I'm trying to say is this: I have no idea how to answer this question. I went about it in an extremely pretentious manner, and I realize this, but I like looking deeper into things. About me: I love the rain, and rainy days. I love the feeling of being so small in a world so big. I like the idea that all that exists has a story all it's own. I adore the art and practice of yoga, and really have an appreciation for art in all of its forms. I would rather spend a week living, truly living, than a lifetime sedentary. Hopefully, this platform will help me achieve something somewhere in the middle. One of my favorite books has a quote that I adore: "I wanted to run away from everything, but I wanted to run towards something too. Don't you see how it was?" This is how I will describe myself. With a quote I didn't even write.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I absolutely adore traveling, but as a college student, it gets a little expensive. I have recently started a new chapter in my life where I want to try and live every day as if it is my last, create beautiful memories, meet incredible people, and learn their stories. I want to create travel vlogs and make art and share it with the world, and someday, my kids, if that is to be a chapter in my life. I want to live life while I still can, because the world has everything to offer, if only we reach out and take advantage.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: This is impossible for me to narrow down. I'm pretty much a fan of any and all music -- that's not to say I don't listen to it or don't carefully curate playlists, I just really have a wide appreciation for all things music related. It has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. The only genre I really can't listen to for long is Heavy Metal. I listen to anything from Radical Face to Frank Ocean, from Bon Iver to EDEN, and from Juice WRLD to Manchester Orchestra. Side Note: I absolutely adore and would die for live music. I am the city curator of a program called Sofar Sounds in West Lafayette, IN, where we host live concerts with local artists in secret locations.
Movies: Favorite Genre is probably Indie Films, here are a few of my all time favorites:
- Place Beyond the Pines
- The Minimalists: The Documentary
- Requiem for a Dream
- Blue Valentine
- Mustang
- American Beauty
- Lady Bird
- Ida
Books: I'm a huge reader, I love a wide variety of genres. I'd love to discuss this with any other couchsurfer!
- Catcher in the Rye
- Winesburg, Ohio
- East of Eden
- Tender is the Night
- The Alchemist
- Of Mice and Men
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am the city curator for Sofar Sounds in West Lafayette, IN. This is a global music series that aims to make live music more intimate and bring it back to it's original purpose: connecting the artist with the audience. The shows feature three unannounced artists in a secret location that can range anywhere from a coffee shop to someone's living room. It is probably the coolest thing I've done, besides travelling to Spain on my own.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a listener. I will listen to anything and everything another soul is willing to share with me. I love to hear stories. I could listen to theories and conspiracies for days. I can share this part of myself. I'm not sure what I myself have to offer, but if anything I happen to mention interests you, I would love to explore this.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to discuss greater philosophical questions, as well as pretty much all types of media -- books, music, movies, video games, etc. I'd love to skip past small talk and form a real human connection! I would also love to assist with any cleaning and cooking that needs completed. I can share some pretty cool vegetarian recipes! I'd also love to share some yoga practices with anyone who would be interested in that sort of thing.
