About Me

CURRENT MISSION

After travelling 10 months around Australia, I look to continue my awesome CS experiences back in the UK

ABOUT ME

I'm a massive foodie, from cooking to eating or restaurant/bar crawling. I am up for any eating challenge thrown at me, especially if it involves steak. I'm a closet geek due to my profession and so I have 3 blogs. When I can I like to take my SLR out on a photo tour with my boyfriend and fellow photo buddies & although I am not an expert, I love using my camera where I can.. As well as food, travel has to be a joint first love. I love discovering new foods, cultures and exploring the area I'm visiting. The world is such a big playground, it is there to be played in.

Ontop of the above, fitness & nutrition are important to me as we only have one shot at life, therefore I want to make sure I have the best first shot & that my body lasts for as long as possible. I'm a strong believer we are what we eat, so I choose to eat well now rather than later.

PHILOSOPHY

- Where there's a will, there's a way!
- Life is too short, so you might as well the make the most of it now.
- Why wait for retirement.
- Prevention rather than cure.
- When you are bored of London you are bored of life.
- You're as strong as your mind, anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Independent of CS I hold come dine with me evenings, a monthly movie night at my flat back in London, games nights and country theme nights.

Set up CS meet ups in what ever city I'm in. (Orange Party, St Paddy's meet up, Rueda Salsa, Film Festival).

Attend as many CS meet ups.

I try to guide new CS users in the right direction on how to use the site and unwritten etiquette.

When I am back in London I'd love to give back to the CS community and host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

US - In New Jersey I went to a warehouse party and met a couple of folks who were pretty awesome and offered myself and a friend a place to crash. The highlight was the pool table they had in their living room and having a comfy double bed to crash for the night, it was certainly needed after the warehouse party.

Cairns exploring the Tableands with Nevan Murray and hiking up Crystal Cascades was awesome.

Couch Surfing on a boat in Magnetic Island with my host Steve from Townsville.

Exploring Mission Beach with Geoff.

Dragon boat racing in Sydney with Tina.

Vienna - A friend put me in contact with their friend as they heard I was going over in Jan 2013. The friend showed us around Vienna and took me and my boyfriend snowboarding. We didn't couch surf, but if it wasn't for this person, we wouldn't have seen as much of Vienna or gone snowboarding. It was a great experience, despite me spending most of my time on my butt.

Sydney - A friend of a friend who had couch surfed in London was kind enough to put me up for two weeks. My host took me to some great bars & restaurants and I have seen some great exhibitions because of her. Tina is awesome and a good person to get travel advice or general advice on Australia.

Forster - A couple who are 3 removed from me, were going to Forster from Sydney and were happy to give me a lift to Forster and give me a place to stay for the night. It has to be one of the most awesome places I have stayed in. The house was on a farm, with all the animals and farm life to go with it. The couple then showed me around Forster where we went to a gorgeous restaurant called The Reed and a lovely ice cream joint called Sinners and Saints.
