ABOUT ME
I'm an easygoing, cheerful, quirky person with a lot of compassion and a positive outlook on life. I love to laugh and have fun adventures and am down to do anything at any time. I am a strong believer that quality time is much more valuable than money. I enjoy meeting new people and making friends. The world is a big place, and I want to explore as much of it as I can in this lifetime.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Every experience I have had so far has been great. There are some wonderful strangers that I have turned into friends through surfing. The generosity of people helps me to strengthen my belief that the world is a good place still.
Interests
Nature. I love being outside. Hiking, swimming, fishing, stargazing, lying around on a beach, I'd do these all the time if I could.
People. I love listening to people and learning about them. I'm constantly on a quest to better understand the world around me.
Travelling. I am always planning my next trip. There is always an adventure waiting for me.
Reading. I love getting lost in my books.
Lately I have been writing what seems like constantly. I don't feel complete unless I have a notebook around.
I like to draw too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
September 2012: Germany and Switzerland - Best experience I ever had, and my favorite adventure so far. I'll never forget the night we illegally camped in the forest at the edge of the Alpsee in Bavaria, right next to the Schloss Neuschwanstein. It's no wonder so many fantastic stories have been written about the forests of Germany. Magic, I tell you. We spent a week longer in Ulm than we had originally planned because it was unexpectedly a blast. Great people, decent nightlife, and overall a charming city. We took the train from the bottom of Germany all the way up to the Baltic Sea, suffice to say, a lot. Drinking was allowed, and if it wasn't, no one ever said anything about it to us. It made the experience a little bit rosier. Good times!
We both fell in love with Switzerland, and I don't doubt that we may one day find ourselves returning there. It's just so breathtakingly beautiful. So expensive if you don't live there, though! Basel was a dream. Definitely visit there if you get the chance, particularly around Carneval time. Apparently it's a huge deal.
Special thanks goes to Sem Zimmerman for hosting us and saving us from having a homeless night in Basel and to Sabrina Schönbächler and her family for being the most hospitable Swiss family we could have asked for.
December 2011: NYC - My favorite New York moment happened at this pizza place in SoHo one evening. The place looked pretty shabby, but one of the blogs I found online gave it a good rating. The shabbiest looking places usually have the best food, right? The man working the counter was this middle aged Puerto Rican man. Wife-beater, tan skin, dirty apron. From the moment I walked in, we were flirting non-stop. It was so silly. I sat on the other side of the restaurant, and we blew kisses and waved back and forth. The pizza was fantastic. On my way out, he asked, "Honey, when you coming back?"
I said,"Oh you know. Tomorrow. The day after that. Every day."
He replied, "Oh honey. Don't tease me like that."
I said,"You know if I do that though, I'm going to get bigger and bigger and bigger."
He says,"Honey. That's not a big deal. I'll see you tomorrow."
He winked.
The whole interaction was funny and borderline creepy. I loved it. Lol.
Overall, New York was spectacular. Way better than I imagined.
September 2010: Dallas, TX - My friend Brian and I stayed in downtown Dallas at the Fairmont Inn. One of the nights we went our separate ways since I wasn't 21 yet, and I met up with a friend(Danny) of my friend(Natasha). Danny and I decided to explore the hotel I was staying in, since it was so nice. We had just finished the second floor, when we were taking the elevator to the third. The elevator was full. The crowd consisted of two couples dressed in elegant evening wear and cowboy hats. It turned out there was an Autism fundraiser going on that evening and there was an auction going on. The elevator people were carrying paintings and small statues. We hesitated on getting in and told the crowd that we'd catch the next one. They protested and pulled us in. They invited us to their hotel room and offered us drinks.
"Y'all wanna party with us tonight?"
We ended up partying with them that night. They took us to a party on the top floor of the hotel, which had a great view of downtown Dallas, and we got to spend time with some of Texas' richest people. I knew that nice dress I packed would come in handy.

If you plan on doing Germany with a friend, the German Rail Twin Pass is definitely worth it. 10 days(all day gets you far!) within 1 month for $468. Trust me, it paid for itself more than twofold.
