ABOUT ME

My friends describe me as a social integrator. I seek out new activities and cuisine whether they be across town or across the world. My friends are very important to me, and sharing these new experiences with them makes the fun had just that much better. I'm an easy person to relate to and I find it very enjoyable to learn about others. My friends would also likely say I'm easy to get to know as I'm often introducing old friends to ones I've just met.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To avoid the sterile and isolating environment of a hotel. To enrich my life with knowledge of other's experiences and to hopefully enrich their lives as well.

Interests

I love experiencing new food, whether served at a restaurant or in my own kitchen. My wife and I are also huge music enthusiasts, and often attend concerts and live concerts of a wide variety of artists (from southern rock and country acts such as Zac Brown Band to alternative hip-hop artists like Aesop Rock). Travel of course opens new doors to new experiences. I love to travel with friends and love to swap our adventure stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On our honeymoon, my wife and I traveled to Paris, France and Lisbon, Portugal. We were both awestruck numerous times, but to single out one experience, I must say that the sensory experience upon arrival to Lisbon stands out. Just having caught the hang of communicating in broken French, we were jarred upon the switching our ears and eyes to communicate in a language even less familiar to our ears. Nevertheless, we soaked in the abundant sunshine and delicious smells of local seafood rising to our top story apartment as a traditional Portuguese band played music that perhaps Columbus himself heard as he disembarked to the Americas. Taking a moment to reflect at these sights, sounds, and smells never fails to reignite my passion for discovery.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My taste in music is diverse as are most of my other interests. I motorcycle, mountain bike, run, hike, do small engine repair and other minor handy work, garden and cook. I'd be happy to teach you anything you'd like to know and cook a meal as our schedules allow.
