ABOUT ME

Emily, twenty-four, student. I've been attempting to get my history and art history degree for a while but, I've discovered that I much prefer staying in bed, watching Netflix and eating cereal. Sometimes, when I'm feeling extra productive, I shower.

I backpacked for three months through Thailand, Vietnam, Beijing and Hong Kong spring/summer 2012. I miss living out of hostels, drinking warm beers, riding on the back of scooters and the great people I met along the way. I'm hoping to travel through Europe in the future, in particular, the Baltic and Nordic countries, mainly because I appreciate their love of saunas but, also because I want to experience the Northern Lights and imagine what our ancestors thought they were seeing in the sky.

I lived in Belgium for two years but spent most of my time eating prosciutto sandwiches and getting addicted to nutella thus, a proper visit back sometime soon is definitely in order.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Currently a couchsurfing virgin. But, as a wise cab driver once told me- "Don't be a virgin forever."

CHEESE (main interest), Space, Picasso's blue period, Big Macs, Sloths, Twentieth century history, Cats, Pizza and Nutella= the holy trifecta, Fox Mulder, Sobranie cigarettes, Ironic usage of "you go girl!"

DISLIKES: Taking selfies (as I look like a bridge troll in real life), Guy Fieri, Government Coverups , When Mulder is nice and flirty with anyone that isn't Scully (Stop that! Stop cheating on mom, dad!)

MOVIES: 1960's yakuza films, anything by Jean-Luc Godard, Wong Kar Wai, Amelie, Lost In Translation, Die Hard, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Lord of the Rings, The Grand Budapest Hotel (Adrien Brody and Jeff Goldblum sharing the screen is my sexuality- and yes, I realize that's rather specific)

BOOKS: Scandinavian Detective novels, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, anything by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, ditto for Henning Mankell, Sense and Sensibility, IKEA catalogues
