About Me
My aim in life is to never stop learning or feeling like i'm learning something from life. Life is one great lesson and every opportunity to learn should be seized.
Currently I am teaching English in Santander in Northern Spain. I have lived (for a least a few months) in Rabat (Morocco), Lyon, Madrid, Santiago de Chile and now Santander. Originally I'm from the UK.
I like to think I'm spiritual and that we are all connected to each other. Therefore everything we do will have either a positive or negative effect on others and our planet. It's important to be aware of who you are and to accept yourself.
Other beliefs include the idea that you should take every possible opportunity in life. It's the people you meet who make the experience! Be positive and never give into fear. Fear is what drives society and causes most people to waste their lives, never reaching their full potential.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to encourage as many people as possible to couchsurf and broaden their horizons by meeting new people. Meeting new people can enrich ours lives and help us grow and know ourselves better.
Eva was my first couchsurfing experience in madrid and she was great so my experience was very positive. Most recently me and my friend couchsurfed in Brazil with a hilarious and lovely guy called conrado. We had a very interesting weekend there :)
Interests
I love films. I watch a film nearly everyday. I try to be openminded about what I watch and other people watch, but I am always keen to meet fellow film lovers.
I also love yoga and walking. Apart from that I listen to music, read avidly, cook enthusiastically and listen to music. I also draw and paint depending on my mood.

Music, Movies, and Books
There's no way I could ever summarise all the films I love. Ones that have stayed with me are classics such as Lawrence of Arabia, Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Singin in the rain...
Recent viewings include Mommy (donde by the talented Xavier Dolan), Belle, The Usual Suspects, Boxtrolls, Gremlins and What We Did On Our Holiday.
I have such a random list of films to see and some of my favourite films are Danish (e.g. After the Wedding), Lebanese (Caramel) and A Separation (Iranian).
Books again is tough for me. One of my all-time favourite novels is I Capture the Castle (Dodie Smith) but then I also love Cloud Atlas (David Mitchell) and The Bloody Chamber and other short stories (Angela Carter). One of my favourite authors is E.M. Forster and well, there's little I wouldn't read or see if someone strongly recommended it to me!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to Syria in 2010 and it was the most amazing country i've ever been to. I spent Easter there and in the days leading up to Easter Sunday we went to many of the processions and events in the churches in Aleppo. Syria used to (maybe will again one day), have a strong Christian community.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and have a passion for films, theatre, art and books so can talk nonstop about them too.
If you want someone to give you a fresh, unbiased opinion, I'm the person to do it.
I am willing to try anything (within reason) and am always looking to learn from other people about life and about this world we live in.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking and would cook for my host. I would probably talk non-stop and recommend a million books and films for you to peruse. Depending on what I had with me, I might even give you a book or something that had special importance for me.
