About Me
ABOUT ME
Meeting people is great! I believe that you always learn something from meeting new people.
For me it's always interesting to find out something about people's life, the way that they have walked through life, what they experienced, what made them become the person who they are now. So be prepared that I keep on asking questions about you and what you have done and why you did this and that ;-)
I am a medical doctor but working as a humanitarian worker. Due to that I am traveling quite a bit.
I also love learning languages. I believe that knowing a language is they key to be able to enter the castle of a nation's culture.
I would describe myself as a happy, outgoing and reliable person who likes to enjoy the moment and who loves to smile.
I am also tidy, like to do dishes (to a certain extent ;-) ) and very respectful.
PHILOSOPHY
My favourite quote is: How soon "not now" will be "never".
It's a phrase by Martin Luther. Even though he said it about 500 years ago, it's still quite up-to-date. There are to many situations, when you think you can't do this right now, that later there will be a better moment to do them. Unfortunately, that moment will most likely never come. So instead of postponing what you want to do, just do it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had the luck to surf in some couches in Bilbao (Spain), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Quebec City and Montreal (Canada) It was a great experience!
I travel for work and currently I do not have my own place so a little bit difficult to host at the moment
Interests
I like a lot of different things.
First of all, I like to meet new people and learn from their lifes and experiences.
I like chocolate, a good coffee with some yummy cake or cookie. And just sit there with a friend and talk or read a book or watch how time passes by.
I love the sea. And the sun. And summer.
I like to exercise. Rock climbing, acro yoga, surfing... I'm opened to anything that sounds like fun!
Oh yes, and I certainly love to eat. Especially local food. I believe that the best part of tourism is culinary tourism :)

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite music really depends on the situation I'm in.
On a Sunday morning, one of my favourite songs is "Banana Pancake" by Jack Johnson. Guess what I love to prepare while listening to it :-)
But I also like electro and singer-songwriter-songs. I guess I'm one of the persons who listens to (nearly) everything.
The last movie that really had a great impact on me and that really impressed me was "Pepe mujica". It's a movie about the current president of Uruguay- a very inspiring person!
One of my favourite books that I recently read is "The Shadow of the Sun" by Ryszard Kapuscinski. It's about his experiences in Africa while he worked as a journalist there. It's definitely a Must-Read for everyone who wants to go to Sub-Sahara-Africa!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
... this year: surfing in Lombok
Teach, Learn, Share
I could TEACH you some acroyoga
I definitely love to LEARN cooking local dishes because every one know this special trick to prepare a certain dish in a very special way. And because I love to eat :-)
Let's SHARE some time together and talk about life enjoying it at the same time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would like to share our ideas and philosophies and life-experiences with you. Maybe while having a glass of wine or a good beer. Or a coffee.
I am working in humanitarian and have traveled to some places in the past years. And I am happy to exchange experiences
