Hi Couchsurfers! My name is Emily and I am currently travelling with my girlfriend Chess (Francesca). I am from London and have spent a lot of time travelling and she is from New Zealand and this is her first big travel trip so it is all very exciting and I am particularly looking forward to introducing her to the Couchsurfing community! She is 31 and I have just turned 30 whilst volunteering with an eco-glamping site in exchange for limitless feta cheese and a tent on Kos, Greece. We are both sociable, easy going and (we think) quite funny - we love the outdoors, a cold beer and friendly cats.

Couchsurfing has so far led me to some of the most fun and interesting situations I've ever found myself in. In Australia I (almost) learnt to sail, 'adopted' some Aussie parents that I stayed with, and through these magical people I was even led to a a job in which I found myself rolling 19,000 dumplings for Chinese New Year - my boss of which and I then took a motorbike across Vietnam together. It's always tons of fun to meet people from around the globe but there's nothing like sharing locals' experiences and really integrating into the community.

I love to have adventures and learn about myself and the universe by doing new things. I enjoy eating new and exciting food, am very interested in music and play the guitar (not very well), enjoy a glass of wine and if you have a dog or cat we will be its best friend for life.

My personal music taste is largely derived from my parents, which is mostly old British rock but I love to hear what other people enjoy too and I am very interested in watching all kinds of live music. My favourite books range from any Thich Nath Hanh books to classic novels - I love to read about spirituality but I love the escapism of a beautiful novel too.

Not intentionally but I am a Category 5 Cyclone survivor and watched my neighbour's roof fly away.

I'd love to share my stories, and I have a lot of energy that I'd love to share too. I'm always interested in working in exchange for a bed for the night - this led me to becoming mother to 10 baby ducklings on a farm in Hawaii which is one my proudest moments yet.
