About Me

I'm a very happy, easy-going, loving, nurturing, spontaneous, courageous, patient, respectful person. I love to listen and learn. I'm in love with life because I see it as a big, impossible adventure. Here I am, living on this great big floating sphere of dirt and water, might as well experience it while I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Growing up, we're told not to talk to strangers. I'm spending my young adulthood unlearning that and it's been incredibly rewarding thus far. People constantly ask me if I'm afraid or lonely traveling alone. The truth is, though, I am never alone. People are so wonderful, welcoming, kind, and lovable everywhere I go. When I travel, I stay with people, not at hotels, often (almost always) for free. I often live off of the kindness of others, and let me tell you, that kindness is overwhelming. I am not afraid because I have family wherever I go; we are all family. People are people. We all laugh, cry, sing, dance, love, eat, drink, and want to connect to the people around us.
The most incredible experiences I have had traveling so far have so little to do with my environment and have everything to do with the people surrounding me. Whether they are male, female, old, young, gay, straight, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, white, black, brown, yellow, red, purple, green, crazy, funny, stern, quiet, loud, bold, shy, narcissistic, insecure, loving, angry, whatever, they are my equal, they are my family. People are what make me love life so damn much. I love exploring new places because of who I might find there.
So, don't be afraid of strangers. Don't be afraid of people who are different than you and definitely don't teach your children to be, either. Smile at, laugh with, understand, and love the ones around you. Realize you are home, wherever you go.

Traveled through Southeast Asia for three months

Packed up my car and drove east for a solo, unplanned US road trip

Lived in New Orleans for five months

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to cook, write, play some guitar, and I can speak Spanish pretty decently.

I would like to learn about other peoples' stories and walks of life.

I would like to share my own story and build more international friendships.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you have a guitar, I can play and sing for you; I can share travel stories with you; I can help out with your children or pets if you have any; I can cook with or for you; I can help you with English and/or Spanish; and I can offer you my friendship! :D
