À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Land in Yakima Washington and find a resilient community.
ABOUT ME
I bounce around the country with a career that allows me to relocate every few months. I have studied fishes in Kansas, plants in Missouri, sage grouse in Montana, salmon and geese in Oregon, migratory songbirds in southern California, and riparian plants in central California. My travel partner Bee and I have gone from coast to coast together in my little civic in the last two years, and we plan to continue.
PHILOSOPHY
Work hard, play hard. Seek magic in the world and strive for empathy with your community. I try to function in a nature-based spirituality, and I have slowly learned that nothing is possible without community.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have had some rich experiences couchsurfing in new states and countries, with an emphasis on trade. I don't have a stable home, but someday I will be able to give back with a couch of my own.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since my travels are almost always work-related, and my employers usually provide housing, I have officially used the couchsurfing.org network only a few times. I had great experiences in San Diego and Peru, and believe strongly in the couchsurfing mission. I have however spent extended periods of time living in other people's houses, I just found my hosts by means other than couchsurfing.org.
Centres d'intérêt
I collect twigs, bones, feathers, leaves, flowers, wings, cedar, old metal, seeds, glass jars, fabric, arrows, pine cones, dirt, sand, fur, scales, shells, beads, rocks, driftwood, wasps nests, birds nests, scraps of paper, grasses, and sage.
I am fond of graphing in my journals. I like to work hard. I like bonfires. I am in the process of helping to tan my second deer hide, and it is turning out much better than the first. I like to hike and I like to make time for sunrises and sunsets. I like lightning, and I like following the phases of the moon. I read and I draw some, and I shoot archery.
I have a degree in wildlife conservation, and I take seasonal jobs around the country on diverse conservation research projects. Birds and mammals are charismatic, but plants speak to my soul.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Bee and I camped on an east coast beach last summer. In one day we saw an osprey take a fish out of the ocean, a huge pod of over a hundred dolphins, and a moonrise multitude of tiny translucent crabs. As a midwest girl the ocean is an incredible treat, and I can't wait to have it close again!
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I can teach beginning bird watching, plant identification, and beginning archery in North America. In South America, I can help a Spanish speaker practice English, make jam, or cook some American food.
