Overview
About Me
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and studied political science and human rights at the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduating, I moved to sunny New Mexico to teach first grade. Outside of education, I spend copious amounts of time exploring the enchanting outdoors, enjoying delicious meals, and talking about the world. Though most of my interests involve learning about people, as an avid sports enthusiast I know there are few things better than watching football (Who Dat! Go Saints!) with other passionate fans.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a host, I enjoy helping people fall in love with the land of enchantment. When traveling, I find exploring new places through the lens of locals makes trips much more interesting. I love hearing and sharing stories, couchsurfing provides such perfect opportunities for that. So if you're passing through, I welcome you whoever you may be and I look forward to knowing you.
Interests
Talking about everything you aren’t supposed to on a first date (think politics/activism/identity/religion/deeply held beliefs), meeting new people, having my opinions pushed, education (specifically early childhood), sociology, swapping stories, hip hop, podcasts, live music, wondering around new places, brunch, being curled up under a blanket to read (likely rereading Harry Potter), deep diving into a conversation about great television, history that centers social justice movements and uprisings, bar hopping, hiking, running, camping, backpacking, dancing, spending too long in an art gallery, talking about life over drinks

What I Can Share with Hosts
For Travelers: A place to stay with plenty of pillows and blankets. I'm also happy to take you hiking in the Sacramento Mountains, on a day trip to White Sands National Monument, on a desert run (they hold a special kind of beauty) or to a yummy local eatery (especially if you love brunch).
For Hosts: If you have time and want to show me around your hometown, I will come filled with questions and be all about it. If you're busy, I am pretty easy going and will gladly explore on my own. Also, happy to cook a meal for you!
