About Me
Hello! Bonjour! Guten Tag!
My name is Emily and I am originally from Texas, USA, although I have lived in California, Colorado and North Carolina as well. I LOVE to sing and play the guitar, ukulele, piano, and many other instruments, and for the past 3 years have been a public school music teacher for elementary students in Texas.
I'm new to Couchsurfing and would love to be able to stay with members of the community and help build up my references!
When I am not making music or seeing concerts, I love to spend time outdoors and participate in adventurous activities such as mountain biking, hiking, whitewater sports, and climbing. I spent three summers as a whitewater rafting guide in TN, USA as well as the past two summers as an assistant director for a youth adventure sports camp.
I LOVE to travel and learn about local cultures and have been to Mexico, Italy, Scotland, Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia, but haven't done any trips in a while. This fall is my BIG trip for celebrating turning 30 and I am visiting friends all over Europe and the Middle East. I would love to include you in my big trip!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love having the "local" experience and learning about what it is like to actually live in a place and get recommendations from someone who resides in the place I am visiting. I am not big on partying (although I don't mind a drink or two every so often) and just need a clean quiet space to decompress from travels and have good conversations with some locals :)

I would like to learn... how to speak more fluently in german and spanish, how to travel Europe like a local.
