About Me

CURRENT MISSION

rebuilding my life with exquisite patience

ABOUT ME

take equal parts serious and silly. add one cup each awkward and charming. throw in a good measure of exultation and a spoonful of irreverence. stir with a large scoop of painful earnestness and two large handfuls of sincerity. season with a dash of lust for adventure, a pinch of stupid bravery, and a sprinkling of contradictions. add a touch of cyncism and a generous dab of idealism. slow cook into one big, strange, delicious, dairy-free, gluten-free organic soup. yum!

PHILOSOPHY

"There's just one rule, babies. Babies, you've got to be kind." -Vonnegut

Right now it's mostly just to live with heart: that the best I can do is to be patient, kind, raw, wild, real, and honest, full of love and blood, with myself and everyone else.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i host and surf. i go to cs events. i use couchsurfing as a place to meet people even when i'm not traveling or hosting - some of my favorite folks are people i met on cs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've taken a few trips in which i've couchsurfed my way around, and i've hosted quite a few people as well. when i moved back to minneapolis, i used couchsurfing to make adventure friends there. i've had some really amazing experiences, and i really appreciate the way couchsurfing connects people to each other.

Music, Movies, and Books

weird old folk, bluegrass, folk punk, songs with phenomenal lyrics, anything you can dance to, the music people make with whatever they have at hand.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

slowly rejoining the world of the living after being really really sick for a long time. it's subtle, but trust me, every minute of it is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can teach you how to make things from paper mache. puppetry and basic print-making. also, pretty much anything in my interests. basic plant id and how to make medicine from weeds!

i'd love to learn how to spin yarn, or more about bookmaking. how to slaughter animals. how to build more things. but really, i'm down to learn just about anything!
