We are two creative, hardworking, adventurous young adults looking to explore the world. Currently we live in a mountain town in central Virginia- surrounded by the old and beautiful Blue Ridge. Garth currently works as a barista for a local European-inspired cafe and bakery, where Emily is also a baker a server.
Apart from his working life, Garth is a seeker of knowledge. Within the past year he has taught himself basic and advanced automobile maintenance. Even more, he prides himself in the ability to research and successfully fix almost anything around the house. From lawnmowers to espresso machines, Garth is mechanically inclined. In his more mental pursuits, Garth enjoys conversing about conspiracies, religion, ideas and sharing philosophy with anybody willing to listen. A true social butterfly. Truly though, Garth is happiest when he is outdoors and immersed in nature. From growing up in the countryside- he has really nurtured a true appreciation for the mountains, hillsides, beautiful rivers and the hidden nooks found in the oldest mountains in the world. A very responsible, and caring soul towards animals both wild and domestic- his most practiced communication is that with the natural world.
Along with her work in the cafe, Emily is also a musician. She studied classical flute performance and art at a conservatory in Wisconsin. Currently she is also a teacher of a small studio and in a duo with a cellist. Her favorite composer is the elusive Achille-Claude Debussy- and loves music that promotes the magical quality of sound. In the past year Emily has cultivated a love for organic gardening. Finally having a backyard she facilitated two small plots and a herb garden full of heirloom seeds. She is a lover of poetry, song and dance- and truly happy when can access a renaissance lifestyle full of nature, creativity and beauty.
As a couple we also have many things we enjoy experiencing together! In this past year we have really found happiness in the practice of Yoga and would love to become yoga teachers one day. We enjoy cooking fresh vegetables and tasty meals. We enjoy making art together. We enjoy watching birds, listening to bird calls and going on bikerides around our little mountain town. We enjoy movies, old and new!
