About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Performing on stages outside my home state.
ABOUT ME
I am a busy young woman in Portland, Oregon. I divide my time between working full time at a local game store--we sell board and card games of all stripes, Magic: The Gathering, and loads of other gaming goodies I'd be happy to play with you--and being involved in Portland's performance art community. I love to dance, both onstage and off.
For years I have identified with radical or anarchist politics. I'm striving more and more now to put them into practice both by acknowledging my own privileges and by practicing active solidarity with people whose right to self-determination is being denied.
I always strive to be a real host when I accept a couch request. I want to have time to spend getting to know you and getting to show you some of my favorite places. That means that I don't accept requests if I can't make myself available to you those days. My house does have a fairly open policy about guests, so if you are quite independent and just need somewhere to stay, please let me know in your request.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm all about community support. I don't think that I ever could be or would want to be completely self-sufficient, because getting help from others and offering it back is the strongest way I know how to feel connected.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My favorite way to participate is by hosting. My housemates and I have been hosting for some time now and it's been fantastic to be able to offer hospitality to travelers and make a new friend on top of that.
I've surfed during trips in Europe and the United States and I hope that as I continue to explore other parts of the world I can do it through CouchSurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed, hosted, and gone to CS events. Because I can be a bit of a homebody, going to a CS event is a deluge of stimulation for me, so it's not especially enjoyable.
I much prefer hosting. I get to meet someone new in my own home and comfort zone, and I feel like I meet people better in a more one-on-one setting.
I've also enjoyed the several times I've surfed. Now that I've hosted, I realize that I'd really like to be a more involved surfer, i.e. staying for more than one night so that I can help out and contribute to another person's home and really get to know them and their city.
Interests
I love to cook and I find it much easier to cook for 12 than to cook for 2. I try to make a dinner to feed everyone in my house at least once or twice a week.
I love supporting burlesque performance, especially when I'm traveling. So many cities have such unique and talented performers!
I have a huge collection of board games which range from quick and easy word games to an hours-long game that reimagines the course of the Cold War. If you have a game you like, I probably have it or something that's similar.
I love visiting museums, especially art museums and historical sites. I'm really interested in history, so learning about the history of the place I'm in is very important to me.

Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to cook you a delicious vegan dinner and have a discussion on strategies of activism or alternative ways to organize our society.
I want to learn the most important things to know how to say in your language, so that when I visit I can be the best traveler I can be.
