About Me

That sense of adventure, where we don't mind things being bigger than us. I think there's a powerful kind of romance in getting to know someone slowly, to appreciate every part of them that's special, and forging a friendship that will last a lifetime. Yeah, I know, hokey and old fashioned right? That's me!
How to sum me up...I am as at-home on the beach gazing upon a sunset alone as I am getting together with friends. I believe in leading a balanced life, and so try my best to enjoy all aspects of it. I enjoy asking a lot of questions, testing people I suppose, and engaging in thought provoking conversations. That being said, many of my favourite memories were just spend quietly with friends and family, taking it all in. Comfort is harder and harder to come by these days, and as people become increasingly connected they get more isolated within themselves. Don't let it happen, I suffered with depression once and now understand how strong a person can be once they realise they are worth something.
I won't repeat my interests here as that wouldn't be...interesting, I suppose. I have currently saved quite a bit to travel across parts of europe and eventually America, a longtime dream of mine, and am nearing the point when I can go. Otherwise...How can we summarise a life and do it justice? I'd wager you have been through so many important, life-defining events that have shaped the person you are now that a thousand profiles couldn't contain them all. But that's the thrill of getting to know someone.
If you're reading this and any of it interests you, I'm particularly interested in speaking to people who are seeking a potential life long friendship rather than merely forgetting about a 'penpal' after a few e-mails. Also a shared interest in literature, particularly the older romantic works from your Brontes and Austens and similar, would be splendid.

Please feel free to drop me a letter - I do not mind where you are from or who you are as long as you enjoy a bit of banter with a friend. I'm looking for someone to challenge me, someone who speaks their mind and someone who is full of heart. I suppose that's the "penpal dream", that people like me (old ones) get when we're feeling particularly wistful. Does it exist? I hope so.
Oh and please don't feel you need to write a dozen pages in your first e-mail - I'd rather get to know you myself, but more than a few lines makes it far more enjoyable to reply to.
