Chi sono

Hey there. I am a German girl that wants to travel the world in order to make her own experiences and get to know to new people and cultures. Everyone has their very own story and our world is full of it. It's worth listening.
When I have a spare minute I like to go outside with a book in my hand or with paper and pencil so that I can start drawing or writing my thoughts down. Or I just watch the people passing by which actually is a quite relaxing activity and I let my thoughts wander around.
I study Cognitive Science in Germany but when I get some time off I enjoy seeing new places before I finally have to go back to my lectures again.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I would like this website to help me getting in touch with people all around the world and to be able to sit at their table while getting to know to their story. I think it’s an amazing idea to create the opportunity to share your coach with someone currently visiting your hometown and enable encounters with people you wouldn’t have met without this experience. So I want to say a big 'thank you' to the creators of this website.

Musica, film e libri

I am currently reading ’13 Things That Don’t Make Sense’ by Michael Brooks which is about scientific mysteries that are yet to be solved and still intrigue humanity because no one can explain them. Generally, I am really into dystopian stories of which the most famous one probably is ‘Brave New World’ by Aldous Huxley. Ever since I have started reading this book I am really into this genre.
My favourite movie I have to and will always say is ‘Inception’ which is just mind-blowing. I could watch it over and over again and this movie would still trigger different thoughts to come up in my mind and that is really fascinating.
My music preferences vary from electronic music, techno and psytrance to classical music. I enjoy dancing to electronic beats which help me to think about whatever is going on in my life at that time whereas I connect the classical music with my childhood and it’s a pleasure to listen to these pieces that are really thought through. I know that must sound a bit contradictory but this is just what I like and I can’t imagine a life without ;)

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I have lived without a phone for 3 months and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. Besides the challenges that I had to face it’s the positive experiences that stick with me and have changed my behaviour in some situations even though I am back in the 21st century again. This sounds basic but most people are really happy to do you a favour. They are ready to help when you have no idea where you have to go and you are not able to quickly google it yourself because you don’t have a phone. However, you just have to go and ask someone which also has the positive side effect to get a feeling of the vibes and people in a new city. Another thing I loved was that my close friends started to just come around to my house and ring the doorbell to see how I was doing. It was such a nice gesture that really made my day.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I can give you a little insight into my life in Germany just like I would like to get to know to your way of living as well. I am interested to learn about new lifestyles, traditions and ways of thinking.
If you like I can teach you some German basics for your next holiday or words that don’t even have an exact translation into the English language like ‘Fingerspitzengefühl’ which describes a persons’ ability to handle a tricky situation and deal with people in a tactful and sensible manner. I could also introduce you to the Swabian dialect which can sound very funny sometimes but people really talk like that in the South of Germany where I grew up.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

Let's tell each other our own story, share experiences and share what we have learned about our world that we live in and the people that we live with. Everyone has to find their own way but getting to know the diversity that is already there certainly helps to find out what you value and where you would like to go. People are inspirational. Let's inspire each other.
It is easier to think with a full tummy and I do also enjoy cooking and baking so if there’ s the opportunity to share traditional and yummy recipes I would absolutely welcome that. Maybe we can even mix up the cultures and create something new;)
