In Japan on a working holiday visa. My main purpose here is to have adventures and do all the awesome outdoor things I've always wished I had more time to do. Also scoping out the country to potentially try move out here longer term if I enjoy this year.
In the 'real world' I'm a primary school teacher and have worked in both UK and International schools.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, but am, sadly on a budget!
Its also an excellent way to meet new people and get a more realistic feel for the place you're staying!

Interests

I love getting outdoors and exploring the world around me. Salsa dancing is my favourite way to unwind, which ive been doing for about 5 years. I also have recently started getting into bouldering and climbing, though since being in Myoko for my ski season I'm out of practice because I couldn't climb often. Also love reading and trying to do it more. I have a target for 40 books this year, but I have some work to do to reach that target since I've only read 2 so far 🤦.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: anything except screamo!
Books: favourite book is 'The Princess Bride,' currently reading a non-fiction book about Brits in Kenya. It's quite depressing so also reading a funny travelogue alongside it to lighten things up.
Movies: favourite film is 'the green mile,' also a fan of pretty much anything marvel. (Nerd-alert!)

I was one of the dancers in the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can try to teach you a bit of salsa, or practise English with you. Im a teacher so I have some great stories about the crazy things kids (and their parents) can get up to!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Friendly, relaxed: Up for hanging out together, but won't be offended if you have stuff to do and need to just set my bed up and leave me to it!
