Hello! My name is Emma. I was born & raised in Minnesota and have moved back to the homeland recently after a 7-year detour in Portland, Oregon. I work in local government with a focus in housing. In my free time I play soccer, go hiking/backpacking, travel, go to concerts, and try delicious food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am just starting to travel alone, and feel like couch surfing could be a cool and fun way to meet people and to keep the costs of traveling solo down. I’m very fun and friendly, but also respectful of the spaces folks choose to share with me.

Music: all things indie, alternative, and pop punk. I also love to boogie to funk music. I’m pretty much into anything except country music and heavy metal (but whatever you’re into is cool too!)
Movies: LOTR series, V for Vendetta, Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Marvel Universe movies, Arrival, Moulin Rouge, Nightmare Before Christmas... the list goes on.
Books: anything that makes me think, makes me laugh, and makes me learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked The Enchantments in 3 inches of snow, and I ran a 199 mile relay race with 11 of my friends!

I love to cook and would be happy to share a meal with a paired wine (or nonalcoholic beverage). I love to sing even if I’m not great at it. I’m pretty chatty and love to engage in meaningful conversation (or just kick the can about silly stuff). I have my masters in urban sociology so enjoy talking all things society and how people interact with place.
