About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To avoid paying $30.000 a year to go to school, because that my friend is over-rated

ABOUT ME

I am from a lovely town that all of 5 people may have actually heard of, but that doesn't mean it has no merit. I like my city but I like the rest of the world a hell of a lot more.
I have traveled all over the US with my family, but the feet first got itchy when I went to Scandinavia with my professor uncle at age 12. Since then I have done everything possible to keep traveling. I spent 6 months in New Zealand as an exchange student my junior year of high school and got the chance to backpack the South Island and Southern Australia on the same trip.
But more recently I graduated from R. Nelson Snider High School (yeah, it really is as lame as it sounds) in 2006 and I have been traveling ever since. I spent 7 months in Italy working as an actress in a theatre troupe, I cat-sat (that is supposed to be the past-tense version of cat-sitting if that helps explain it...)in London, and trained around the French Riviera.

PHILOSOPHY

Live it up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Basically I just want to meet people that can make my overseas experiences real. I think that it is really fun to hit up all of the amazing sights, but in my experience the most memorable moments are the ones I have spent with others. Although I love photography, I feel like most people traveling spend 80% behind the camera, 10% is spent reviewing the photos and the other 10% is spent attempting to jam in all the other stuff missed along the way. I still love documenting my travels with photographs but more importantly I want to get to know about the people and the places I visit. It just seems like it is the people that I have met along the way that have made the moments stick and the experiences that much greater. Lets just say I am a big fan of conversation.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with and met three of the coolest people on Earth in Beijing. They pretty much saved my life from the insanity that would have unquestionably taken over me had I not found such amazing people to get me through it. I have only had a great time with couch surfing.

Interests

Pretty much everything, I have a serious fear of sharks and ladybugs, but other than that I am up for it all.

Music, Movies, and Books

I adore anything with Cary Grant but I have to say that my top 10 would be (in no particular order seeing as choosing a favorite movie is like loving one child more than the other) Philadelphia Story, Amelie, Stardust, Singig in the Rain, Some Like it Hot (FYI that is not a porno), Kill Bill, LOTR (yes I am counting them as one), Superbad, Imposters, Noises Off. Ok, maybe they aren't my favorite but they are certainly the ones that I could watch a million times over.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drank an entire 1.5 litre bottle of water in 45 seconds. I also met Jerry Springer.
