关于我

I tend to develop connections with others that are intimate and long-lasting. If I learn your story, I will start to care for you unconditionally; it’s hard not to love someone after you’ve learned their story. Since people come first in my mind I like to listen to their stories very intimately. I love learning what makes someone tick and how their past has shaped them as a person.

I have confidence in myself because of the knowledge I have; along with my ability to adapt. Traveling long-term to me means disregarding a desire to have a more feminine appearance. Removing my concerns with my appearance allows me the freedom to have the right experiences as I travel.

True confidence shows an ability in a person to embrace their fears with the intention of learning. It’s derivative of knowing yourself and the world around you. My observation has been when we are confident in our decisions and ourselves, others will encourage us. Which means, worrying about disappointing yourself over disappointing someone else.

I place gravity in my actions because I understand their effect. Outward expressions, actions, and poses impact us more than we realize. Simply changing the direction you look while walking, can alter your confidence. It also changes how you’re perceived. When you look down you elicit an acknowledgment of submission. However, when you look up are perceived as being lost in thought, creative or positive. Holding a power position such as stretching your legs up on your desk with your arms behind you head—can increase your confidence. The opposite is true for those that curl up in a ball for a few minutes. Every action we take affects us mentally, whether we observe it or not. Our actions change chemicals in our brains dictating the way we think.

I consider myself an ambivert, which means I have a tendency to shift from being very extroverted, playful, bubbly, and affectionate. To being secluded, quiet, observant, and lost-in-thought. It typically relates to the environment and people I’m around in a given moment. Around the right people, I have more of an inclination to stay extroverted.

I’m organized, attentive, and view my surroundings as an influence to my psyche. I maintain a mentality of cleaning as I go. This keeps the environment around me constantly clean; disallowing myself to be bogged down by unnecessary disorder and chaos.

As of right now, I’m in the process of getting rid of everything I own—to live out of a backpack. In the mean time while I prepare I’m traveling more locally. I have a year to finish off my leases, save enough money, purchase equipment, research, field test, and sell everything. I’m learning various martial arts as a means of self-defense as I travel. I care about the people around me and want to instill confidence and that I’ll be capable of handling any encounter. I know how devastating it would be if I left someone’s life because of how poignant it would be for me.

I find that experiencing the world and facing adversity will cause you to learn and grow. It teaches you to be happy and grateful for what you have in life. I see each negative experience as something that can be flipped into a positive learning experience. Some of the best experiences come from mistakes. I’m particularly fond of the concept of—happy mistakes—I think that this is especially true in creative works. Sometimes our best ideas, art, and philosophy come from mistakes.

I think experiencing life to the fullest means removing restrictions that hold us back. Like inflexible schedules, debt, materialistic goods, and any other mental/physical restriction. I think a lot of us work toward it in their own ways. Everyone I talk to about how I plan to travel has said, “I want to travel too,” sometimes, “take me with you,” and occasionally, “I wish I were you.” It seems like people get trapped in their lives; a victim to their own situation. They want to get out, but they just don’t know how. Similar to that of an abuse victim that doesn’t realize they’re being abused because of their perception. They see themselves as helping a troubled person who’s change is inert.

When we have something we don’t want to face it usually means we should face it head-on otherwise it might consume us; if we don’t. The directions we can go and the reactions that occur, fill me with fascination.

I believe that intelligence is a blanket term for a passion and interest in knowledge beyond the common. We can always assign number values to others. However, there’re a lot of variables like creativity, emotional intelligence, and common sense that most tests do not consider.

I’m transgender, I’m open about it and verbalize my experiences. To most, gender is static and unchanging, but for some of us out there it’s fluid, neutral, or the opposite gender we’re born as (transgender). This can be confusing for many, even those that identify as such, as education on this matter is scant. There’s a common misconception that such a gender also determines a person’s sexual preferences. In reality, the two are completely separate. Someone can be transgender and like the same sex they identify as, the opposite gender, or both.

Two years ago I finally discovered myself; the person that had been suppressed by social norms and conservative viewpoints. I identify as a girl, feel like a girl, act like a girl—I am a girl. It took a lot of time, self-reflecting, and intimate conversations with friends and family to be completely open about this. I’ve gone through acceptance and rejection, but most everyone—once they understand, is usually supportive. My greatest concern during my transition was the comfort of those around me. I still tell everyone, any question I can answer, no matter what it is I will always try to answer it. There are no wrong questions (except those with the intention to harm). I want others to know that they can address me as they feel comfortable. I do have a preference of being called by female pronouns such as she and her. However, that is only a preference, I will not yell, cry, or get offended if you don’t follow that preference. Furthermore, I am on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) and view it as a supplement to closer reflect my identification. At one point I thought I wanted to do reassignment surgeries; now, I’m far less interested. I’m very confident in who I am, even if I’m not a hundred percent feminine in my outward appearance.

Admittedly, reading books was something I was never encouraged to undertake growing up. I was around technology more than books. I also had Dyslexia, which made it hard to learn to read and write until I was older. This was due to an inactivity in one hemisphere of my brain. I was taught using a curriculum that utilized booklets that didn’t promote much outside research. I’m looking forward to having more time to read when I start vagabonding. Overcoming the challenge to read and write contributes to my confidence in being capable of surmounting any task I set my mind to.

Mediums like movies, video games, TV shows, anime, manga, and comics books used to be more important to me. Over time, I’ve shifted my interests to people, learning and researching; intimate conversations, exploring, photography, filmography, writing, eating/cooking healthy, minimalism, drawing, travel, journaling, science, psychology, ecology, sociology, philosophy, neurology, biology, world history, pynthantics (the art of asking the right questions to get useful answers), autocogitating (my word for referring to self-reflection), storytelling, blogging, poetry, guitar, singing, dancing, volunteering, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Filipino Kali, Maphilindo Silat, Muay Thai, meditation, rock climbing, slacklining, yoga, hiking, biking, skydiving, snowboarding, dancing, swimming, basketball, ultimate frisbee, disc golf, kickball, technology, genetics, video editing, 3D modeling, web development, pixel art, and game development.

Being a polymath makes me jump from and to interests. My latest interests are guitar and martial arts. Next on my list: archery, paragliding, horse riding, scuba diving, sailing, and surfing.

Something I’ve recently got back into is photography. Photography is whatever you make of it, it has no limits, which is what I love about it. I think it also translates into the real world, promoting the realization that you have no limits as well.

Beyond all of that, people are what I’m truly passionate about. Something we’re truly passionate about engenders revolutions, new technology, ideas, and substantial impacts to society.
