About Me

I was born in Russia into a family who valued the culture of education above material acquisitions.
From a young age I was learning Drawing, sculpture, classical dancing and poetry reading.
At the age of 13 my family immigrated to Australia and I have lived in Melbourne since.
I have completed Bachelor of Economics and also Fashion Design.
Living in Melbourne since the age of 13 gave me in insight into the ever-changing face of my city. I have a passionate love affair with Melbourne.
Rainforests 40 mins drive from my house, beaches and promenades 10 mins drive, unbelievable night life, cool shopping strips and it's comfortable layout, space, beautiful homes and private gardens, chilled easy going people, she'll be right mate attitude....Melbourne has the goods.
For the last 12 years I have been designing and building houses and also running an international hostel in Melbourne.
I love interacting with inspiring and positive people who love life and are creative thinkers.
But my main passion is art and design, travel and architecture, never enough...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to travel the world whilst being part of local life and bring a little bit of an interesting angle into the lives of my hosts. Sure a free bed and a shower is a bonus but I would love to be hosted by genuine locals who love developing friendships with people from other parts of the world, people who enjoy making others happy. Because I have a hostel in Melbourne, I have the ability to enable a meaningful exchange in a great location. Travellers from all countries walk through the doors of my hostel. I have much respect and admiration for their minds - adventurous, hungry for new experiences and full of curiosity for the vast land of Australia. I love meeting and talking to people, learning another point of view and making friends throughout the world.

Interests

I love music, ballet and art festivals. I love food festivals and fashion shows. Jungles, rocky mountains, oceans, deserts, sunrises, sunsets, a cup of coffee with a genuine person or an interesting book.I love my family and friends, even though I have practically no spare time. I am aiming at finishing my time consuming projects and hopefully free up and smell the roses. I admit to having an overromanticised perception of the world and feel strongly about human interactions and hope to encounter respect and goodwill in all of my Couchsurfing experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical pieces Tchaikovsky, Bethoven. Vintage Beatles, Dylan, Jim Morrison, Ella Fitzgerald. Modern Rhiana, pop music.
My favourite movies Gone with the wind, Sounds of a Music, Casablanca, Fiddler on the a Roof, Love Actually.
War and Peace, Goya.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Beatles famously sang THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO THAT CAN'T BE DONE. I tend to agree - nothing that I've done is amazing but I did win first place in the Gown of the Year in Australia wide Fashion Competition. I've also built much liked and copied by other architects house that looks like from the streets of Vienna with Roman garden ombience.
I've done Safari in Rajasthan and also met George Harrison.
Still hoping to achieve much and hopefully donate as much as possible to medical research.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Russian, Ukrainian and English languages. I can also teach healthy cooking.
I would love to learn anything one knows or able to teach.
I would share my food and my home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would share a cooked meal, walk around town, funny stories, visiting events and places. But most of all, I would love sharing fun time filled with jokes, laughter and everything energising.
I am happy to make incredibly tasty Russian dishes - latkes, borsch, potato salad, apple strudel... your wish is my command but frankly I prefer healthy cooking which can be tasty as well.
Surprisingly my mind and personality are still influenced and shaped by events and people I meet.
