My name is Emma, I am a 21 year old Swede who lives in the Netherlands. I consider myself a very outgoing person, an enthusiast for new adventures and generally social human being. I have recently rounded off my bachelors in social sciences with majors in anthropology, sociology and human geography. As for travelling, we were never inherently "rich" when I grew up, pretty average, but my parents always made sure to save up enough money so that we could travel at a young age - this also to do with the fact that we had to visit family in Sweden of course. I thank them then for my wanderlust.

I have used couchsurfing once before a few years ago on my interrailing trip with two friends and really enjoyed it. Especially in cities where it tends to turn towards the more touristic experience quite easily, I really prefer to stay with locals and have an entirely different experience whilst making new friends all over the world.

So why am I here again? (I say again as I have not been particularly active) I am here because in about a week and a half I embark on the oh-so-typical half year "gap year" trip to Southeast Asia and Australia. We will be arriving in Bangkok and actually had an address to go to but unfortunately this fell through at the last minute. SO here we are - searching for the right fit, someone who would love to let us into their inner circle!

I snorkeled in Australia, and swam above baby sharks, ginormous turles and sting rays. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen or done!
