About Me
Update: I'll be away from my North Rim home from late October through March, so I won't be able to host for a little while. I hope to open my home again to folks come spring 2019! In the meantime, I'm hoping to do quite a bit of surfing - especially on my European travels in February!
I love being outside, music, all manner of adventure, exploring, and exercising my mind and body.
I work in Fire Ecology at Grand Canyon National Park, where I get to romp around in the woods for a living.
Sometimes I start fires, sometimes I put them out, sometimes I fly in helicopters. Often I travel for work to different National Park units or wildfires across the country.
I am lucky to have family and friends all over the country whom I love to visit and adventure with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Mostly I travel to visit loved ones or with work, but occasionally I have found myself flying solo in a new town. The best experiences I've had in situations like this have been via Couchsurfing with wonderful strangers, or meeting adventure-buddies in hostels. Traveling to new places is incredible no matter what, but having the opportunity to meet locals lends an entirely new dimension to the experience!
I also want to provide folks an opportunity to stay in a sweet little cabin on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon every now and then! My back yard is pretty damn spectacular, and I love to share it with friends, new and old.
