About Me

I’m a singer, songwriter and singing teacher.
I love to be creative, to meet people, to sing, dance and play. I love animals and I want to run an animal shelter one day when I am settled. I’m also learning Turkish! It’s a challenge but I enjoy it a lot. I am currently learning the piano which I love and I am working on building up a business as a vocal entrepreneur so I can work for myself and have the freedom that I desire. I believe in simple acts of kindness and I also strongly believe in the power of silliness… “ we don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people, exchange ideas and banter and to have unique experiences. As someone who historically used air bnb and hotels, discovering Couchsurfing last year was very exciting for me. I often travel alone which has its benefits but it can get pretty lonely sometimes so connecting with a local person is very appealing.

Interests

Nature, singing, animals, people, dance, exercise, qigong, swimming, hiking, discovering new places

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books that make me cry. Feeling deeply is such a privilege that I love to honour. My music taste is very eclectic; from old jazz to drum n bass and everything in between.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed in Nashville!

Sat in silent meditation for 10 days after my father’s death. It the hardest thing I’ve ever done (besides cremating my dad of course!) I had some deeply profound experiences through the 10 days including reaching a blissful Nirvana like state where I had no thoughts at all and I existed in pure presence which lasted for around 30 minutes. I am psyching myself up to do another 10 days because even though it was a life changing experience, it was mostly extremely hard and very very emotional.

I got on a plane and traveled 1800 miles to tell a man to his face how I felt about him….it didn’t go as I wanted but I’m glad I did it because in a world full of hate and lies, an honest expression of love can only be a good thing. We remain friends which I’m very grateful for.

I was almost killed in the Atlantic Ocean. I do not recommend this experience 0/10. It was amazing because I somehow survived!
