About Me

I'm half English and half Norwegian. I'm currently on a gap year before I start my time at university. I'm most likely going to study something media and journalism related. I'm outgoing, friendly and hoping to meet people on my travels. I'm very new to Couchsurfing and I hope it will be a rewarding experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a 20 year old girl on a gap year looking to find cool people to stay with during my 3 months of backpacking. I would also like to use this site in future, to possibly host someone myself when I start studying. I also think it may be great for finding new friends all over the world.

Interests

Travel, reading, drawing, exploring, dancing(in no professional way whatsoever haha!), chocolate, cooking, baking, photography, filming, writing, swimming, laughing, learning, staying active, and being creative.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not very good at picking favourites as there's always something new to watch, read or listen to, but here are some current favourites:

Music: Arctic Monkeys, James Bay, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Troye Sivan, The Pigeon Detectives, etc. I like chart pop, decade music, and most genres really!

Movies: The help, Mean Girls, The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice, 10 things I hate about you, The Departed, Harry Potter. I like Comedy, Romantic Comedy, Action and Adventure movies.

Books: Anne of Green Gables, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Disgrace, The Road, Game of Thrones, Wuthering Heights, The Davinci Code, The Girl on the Cliff. I also like Norwegian crime novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Tikal in Guatemala.
Been on several cultural exchanges, living with wonderful host families
Worked as a volunteer English teacher for 4 months in Guatemala
Swimming in the Norwegian sea in April
Went to Pompeii and Rome
Snorkelling in Belize with Sharks and Sting Rays
Made people smile
Received top marks on a book analysis of The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Grilled Marshmallows on a Volcano
Was a Russ in Norway
Seen the Nothern Lights and the Midnight Sun

Teach, Learn, Share

I can try and teach you some Norwegian if you want, and possibly some very basic Spanish haha! I'm also interested in learning about your culture. I can give you travel tips for the countries I've lived in and the ones that I've visitied and I hope you can give me some pointers on what's worth seeing where you live :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share travel stories and teach you things about Norwegian, English, American and Guatemalan culture after being lucky enough to live in all of those countries. I'm also tidy and willing to help out with things. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their favourite stories, and what they've done with their life.
