About Me

I like meeting people, going wine tasting, I especially like drinking chillie hot chocolate available at only one place in Stellenbosch, Hillcrest berry farm on the way to Franshoek.
I work from home as a holistic counselor and am involved in a feeding programme for the underprivileged also like to paint and the walls of my home are lined with my paintings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi, I'm available to show women around Stellenbosch. I have a car so if I have time, I can drive us around to do something nice (wine tasting, go to a restaurant, art exhibitions, Thursday night at Bilboa where there's usually a live band, walks in the forest etc).

Interests

I watch movies, walk in forests, mountains, on the beach, eat olives, explore coast lines, try surfing once in a while, camp in nature once in a while. Once or twice a year I really love to go all out and I go to a big fancy dress up party.

I love enjoying myself. I love the feeling of freedom it creates. Be it through conversation or an activity. There's just that certain amount of silly or play that makes me smile. I once joined a circus for a day just to try it out and learned how to ride an electric unicycle!

Music, Movies, and Books

Monty Python, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Paul, Shawn of the dead.
Terry Pratchet. All of them.
Zero 7, Imogen Heap, muse, the vast, goldfrappe, jack white, mumford, beats antique, radiohead, lana del ray etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Attempting to ski across a stupidly steep slope and getting stuck over a cravis. My ski instructor friends positioned themselves around me and managed to pull me over it really quickly. After a 5 min shaky collapse in safety I vowed never to do anything like that again. Although it does make for a good story. I feel the same way about sky diving, but at least I can say that I did it.
Otherwise, one of my major accomplishments in my life so far has been going to Africa Burn!

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning about medical herbs taken as supplements (I like natural medicine and find the human body to be such a mystery. I've noticed that if the physical condition is closely related to an emotional state, then most medicines won't work unless you treat the emotions.)

I'm a jack of all trades, yet the master of none. I've been a stylist (although you wouldn't think that with the way I dress), PA to an executive producer in the film industry, window display coordinator in the fashion industry, as well as organising fashion shows and photo shoots with models. I was also a buyer and went overseas on buying trips. Then I worked in a health shop for 5 years and am now a holistic coach. I basically follow where ever life leads me and it always works out.
