About Me

I have taken many 10 day to places in Europe but up until September 2016, I had never undertaken a trip of this size. My 10 weeks in SE Asia is almost up and then my trip will take me to Australia and New Zealand. I have left my life behind in Liverpool, UK and I am working my way through my fears, pushing myself out of my comfort some every way I can. For me, setting up a couchsurfing profile is being out of my comfort zone.
I'm looking to meet people I wouldn't normally meet, find the local heart of a city, try new experiences and find a budget friendly way of seeing these countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, which hopefully will become friendships, learn new skills, share what I can, see a city from a locals view and save money so I can continue travelling for longer.

Interests

At the moment my life is all about travel and finding a life for myself. I've experienced things I've never before tried; trekking, white water rafting, kayaking, snorkelling, jumping from a boat into the sea... I've have so many firsts already, which to me means that my list of interests is changing and growing all the time. But film, reading, exercise are all a constant, even though travel makes these things more difficult.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge film fan. I have too many to name but my top 5 would have to be Amelie, Lost in Translation, Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Breakfast at Tiffanys.
Music, well I'll listen to almost anything. Trance, heavy metal and reggae aren't my thing. Nouvelle Vague, Melanie Pain, Ani Difranco, KT Tunstall, Christine and the Queens, Karen O are some of my favourites.
My favourite author is British write Sarah Waters. But travel, history, Brené Brown and the classics are subjects that interest me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This trip. This is by far the most daring, brave, challenging and amazing experience I've ever allowed myself to face. Everything from the actual act of travelling and planning my movement from place to place, to meeting people and making friends, to the activities I have completed that I could never have imagined myself ever doing. It's all been life changing. And I'm only 2 months in.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an wanting to learn new skills and learn what I can. Teaching English as a native speaker rather than a qualified teacher is something I can offer. I can help around the home and I'm looking forward to learning new things about myself that I can pass on.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm still learning things about myself but I friend told me I'm humble, caring and protective and determined. Talking about myself takes me out of my comfort zone but I'm trying. I will engage in the life of the hosts, I will help out around the home. I am polite and considerate and with that can come a shyness, but the more people i meet, the more I find my voice.
