About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Wherever you are, be there."
ABOUT ME
I recently graduated from a small liberal arts school in western New York and almost immediately moved to Brooklyn, which is a wonderful place that I would recommend to people over the rest of NYC any day. I spend most of my time exploring, seeking out new restaurants and delicious cups of coffee, going to as many concerts as possible. In 2011 I spent a semester abroad in Norwich, England, studying at the University of East Anglia, where I fell in love with the UK and got to an opportunity to see some other really amazing places around Europe as well. In the future, I'd love to do some traveling around the US, as I haven't seen much of my own country and believe that, when we meet, the West and I will love one another. I'm a barista, a writer and at any given time I usually have an internship of some sort, though the career path is still pretty foggy... and poorly lit... and meandering. I'm having a great time doing what I'm doing though, so no complaints here.
PHILOSOPHY
Always, always take the scenic route!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've only participated in CS unofficially - by hosting friends from all over the place on my couches. But based on how much I love that, I'm looking forward to getting involved.
Interests
I'm interested in music of all sorts (especially when it's live), coffee, poetry, art, the outdoors, traveling and cooking. And pretty much everything that's even remotely related to those things.

Music, Movies, and Books
From folk to funk and jazz to hip hop - there isn't much music that I won't enjoy. Current favorite author: Ali Smith. Also a fan of Bill Bryson, Dave Eggers, Toni Morrison, Tom Piazza, Raymond Carver. Oh, and don't even get me started on poetry!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once passed out at Buckingham Palace. I was 7, it was really hot outside and I was dehydrated. It caused me to miss the eagerly anticipated changing of the guards. Ice cream was the cure, as it usually is!
