About Me

I'm a garden coordinator at the Salt Lake City Public Library and I also make body-based art with a couple of queer performance art collectives as well as solo work. I am very active and tend to travel a lot in the winter as my job is seasonal.

My gender identity is very queer/non-binary; I use 'they' pronouns in English, but like both male and female pronouns to be used in languages that do not have a non-binary pronoun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I use couchsurfing to find local people to stay with in new places because I find connecting with others to be the most gratifying aspect of traveling.

Interests

I've got a lot of ethical 'n' existential questions to do with all my interests. I also like hearing about other peoples interests and learning that there is just so much going on underneath the surface, and far away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've attended a Vipassana Meditation course recently at which participants remain silent without communicating with anyone save for the assistant teachers for ten days and meditate for up to ten hours a day. I feel very grateful for that experience and will continue to strive for mindfulness and presence outside of that setting. I hope to attend courses like that on a yearly basis.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you Final Forehead, a card game that is similar to Bridge, but not as complicated, and you put a card on your forehead at the end!

I can also share anatomical/somatic/kinesthetic knowledge.

I feel more like myself when I cook - sauces are my specialty. I like coming up with cocktails, although I'm no bartender or mixologist.

Countries I’ve Visited
