About Me

We are Emma and Chris, a mid-twenties couple currently browsing the southwest by car and hoping to settle in Asheville, NC, very soon!

Emma's most happy place is outside, in the mid-morning after a long run and a delicious, home-cooked breakfast, sitting with a cup of coffee and my journal or a book.

She is playful, outgoing, adventurous, spontaneous, affectionate and curious. Sometimes loud, unpredictable, and hangry (the special kind of grumpy one becomes when they are very hungry).

Chris's happy place is bellying up at a good craft beer bar. He is very good at wrangling Emma when she starts to be hangry. He really likes dogs, the science section of Reddit and strumming the geetar.

Above all, Chris and I share a love for meeting new people and exploring new places. We also love hiking, tasting and cooking with new foods, drinking excellent beers, reading & making music (that's mostly Chris's arena).

We returned from a trip to Europe, India and Thailand in February. We met in Portland, OR. He is from Connecticut, I was raised in Alabama.

We haven't had the opportunity to host surfers yet, as neither of us have had our own place in years. We look forward to a little apartment in Asheville where we can share the couchsurfing love!

We are super laid back. We spent most of our time traveling in hostels where we shared a twin size bunk bed, so we are easy to please as far as sleeping space. We look forward to meeting some cool people on this adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We won't lie - part of the reason we're here is to travel affordably. But we also think this is an excellent way to have new experiences and meet interesting people, which we love doing!
