ABOUT ME

I was born a Londoner and moved to Nottingham to study. I'm in my final year of a medical degree, as are my housemates.

PHILOSOPHY

I think we should live our lives as contentedly and peacefully as possible... my practice is not quite up to the standards of my philosophy, but I'm trying! I firmly believe that trusting people and opening up to them, even if you risk getting hurt, ripped off or dumped on, is the only hop we have of making the world a better place.

I'm new to couch surfing, but love the idea of hosting and maybe surfing in the future.

I like to potter about in my very tiny garden (mostly made of tubs right now).

Music, Movies, and Books

It takes quite a lot to get me in front of a movie screen. The last thing I saw at the cinema was probably the Mandela biopic.

I like an odd and disparate collection of music- including indie and metal from my teenage years, classical tunes I learnt on my flute, various operatic works I somehow came into contact with and more recently, modern folk.

I try to read widely. Things I've been reading recently include a lot of translate foreign fiction, Jane Austen and her fanfic, high fantasy (well, pretty much just Game of Thrones) and old sci-fi. I'm always looking for new recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week helping to deliver new born babies as part of my studies. I was the first person in the 'outside' world to hold one of the babies, having 'caught' him as he was being born. Bloody, drawn-out, but an amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to craft and make things. Whilst you stay with us, why not learn to make a handmade bag or hem trousers?

We also play a lot table top games in our house.

I'm trying to learn Spanish at the moment and would really appreciate any language practice.
