ABOUT ME

Open-minded girl, worked and travelled around Europe but settled in Lincolnshire, UK for the minute. I work seasonally so I'm grabbing the chance to travel further afield between November '11 and February '12. Really excited as my departure date is drawing nearer and I have been deprived of holiday for almost 12 months!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm outgoing and caring, quite a private person but a bit of a socialite nevertheless! Now a semi retired party animal that only occasionally ventures out and prefers to do all kinds of other things from kayaking and sports (although I even surprise myself somedays at how incredibly bad I am at them!) to cooking, dining out, travelling, exploring everywhere, taking walks and getting fresh air. I love animals although never had one of my own - excluding the original goldfish that my mother murdered while I was away at a school summer camp! I am pretty outdoorsy, I spend a lot of time outdoors and with children as I work on a children's activity centre and live there too so surrounded by young people 24/7. I told myself that I wanted to increase my pace of life and start experiencing some of the things that have been on my "to do" list for yonks so here I am, about to set off on my travels - going solo and I think this site may well be my saviour in times of need, or for that matter whenever I have got sick of talking to myself! I love the website concept and really intend to make use of it - its a fantastic site and it's going to be awesome to meet people around the globe. Hopefully I can return the favour of a couch for anyone who needs one on a trip to the UK!

Interests

As a child it was almost one a week - I vividly remember the week I played the trumpet - only topped by the week of violin that I was made to practice in the garage! I love doing almost anything although I have a fear of heights which I intend to conquer this trip!

Music, Movies, and Books

wow. where to start? I love masses of movies as I don't really favour any particular genre. Books wise (mainly those I've read this year as my memory is atrocious!) Pride and prejudice, the book thief, to kill a mockingbird, the crucible, the boy in the striped pyjamas, Lee Child's Jack Reacher series. Music again really diverse but I love catching up and coming bands, artists unsigned, and love small music venues over the pyrotechnics of bigger concerts anyday! On my ipod at the moment, mara carlyle, ben howard, peter and the wolf, kings of leon, florence and the machine, marissa and the diamonds, mumford and sons, bombay bicylce club, eminem, the subways
