About Me
Hi! I'm Emma :) I'm currently an undergrad student finishing up my English degree at a small liberal arts college in a tiny town in the USA. I'm a very outgoing person with an open mind and a passion for learning about new cultures and lifestyles, and exploring what this beautiful world has to offer is something I'll never stop doing. I'm excited to see where future adventures will take me and hopefully meet as many amazing couch surfers as I can!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I think when done right, it can be an amazing experience. My first time couch surfing was this past summer in Washington D.C. and it was the best experience I've had while traveling. I had a wonderful host who made me feel like we had been friends for years and we had a great time.
I've heard stories of bad couch surfing experiences, and how some people think its become overrated, or that the whole idea has been taken advantage of, but I think that when handled responsibly and appropriately, it can lead to memorable experiences and new friendships.
I was born and raised in Israel and moved to the States when I was in grade school, so I was introduced to traveling at an early age. Since then, I've gone back to my home country numerous times and done some traveling of my own in Europe, and I think it's safe to say the travel bug bit me, and it bit me hard-- so I'm here to continue my traveling adventures and hopefully meet great people along the way, and someday (soon) return the favor by hosting couch surfers and giving them an amazing couch surfing experience, just like I had.
Interests
I'm a huge dog person and an animal lover in general, I volunteer at my local animal shelter on a weekly basis. Puppies make me smile :) I love to dance, salsa is a definitely a favorite, but if there is good music around I'll most likely dance to it, don't be surprised if I randomly bust out a dance move or two. Other passions include reading, writing (starting my own travel blog soon!), and obviously traveling! Also spicy food is my favorite. Sriracha Hot Sauce is my life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: A few favorites that I can think off the top of my head are The Alchemist, The Kite Runner, Water for Elephants, among many more.
Movies: Finding Nemo, Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire, American Beauty, The King's Speech, and I also really enjoy shows like House of Cards and Sherlock... Netflix is kinda my best friend.
Music: I love anything reggae, or Spanish-influenced (like salsa music). But I'm a big fan of foreign music from all over.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I hiked up Mt. Masada in Israel at 3am and saw the sunrise.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I'm tri-lingual and love learning new languages. My English is the best language out of all of them, so if anyone wants help with their English in exchange for teaching me another language, let's do it! However, if you're just *dying* to learn some Russian or Hebrew, I got your back.
Learn: I would love to continue expanding my language learning, and learn as many as I can! Currently trying to teach myself Spanish.
Share: I'll share my travel stories in exchange for yours :)
