About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Oh, the places you'll go! - You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way!

ABOUT ME

I'm a recent college grad moving to Fuengirola, Spain to work as a language and cultural assistant in an elementary school (Oct-May). I don't know anyone in Fuengirola, so I am looking for friends (and perhaps a couch) for my time there.
Other than that I'm an easy-going, open-minded person. I love to travel and to take advantage of every opportunity I have to do so. When I'm in a new place I like to get a very well-rounded sense of the city: it's museums, churches, foods, people, nightlife, etc. I believe that my having been to a number of countries at a young age really influenced me in terms of how I see the world and the friends I make. The more people we meet and the more things we see and experience help us to grow into amazing, multidimensional, accepting people.
So let's get out there and do this!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we can learn from every single person we meet along our lifelong journey. This world is in our hands. We need to turn to our neighbor and connect with them. We need to give first, and then take. We need to share and open our eyes.

There is so much world to see, so much to experience, whether it be a 12 hour flight away or just outside your own front door. And so, ironically, get off the couch! What are you waiting for?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

There is a saying in Spanish, "el mundo es un pañuelo", their version of "it's a small world" (but more poetic, I think). Through my experiences I've learned that this is true. My hopes for the CS Project is that we can all learn to appreciate how small the world really is. I like the idea of knowing that wherever I travel in the world, a friend from the CS community is there to meet me. I'd also like to be that friend for others when they are traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but very ready to start! I've heard nothing but great stories about the CS community and it's something I know I want to be a part of.

Interests

Languages, meeting new people, eating great food. Long conversations, building world connections. Friendships across many miles. Traveling. Fighting against racism, sexism, ageism, and any other prejudice or system of oppression that sadly rules our world. Making the most out of my everyday life. Never passing up an opportunity to visit a friend or see something new.
