Overview
About Me
Hi :) My name is Emmaline, and I'm a university student living in NYC. I study history, and I am very passionate about it! Besides that, I am a classical pianist and I love having conversations about all kinds of music (but especially classical!). I also see lots of films in my free time; I'm usually hopping around the movie theaters here in the city. I am looking forward to making some new friends through Couchsurfing, and I would be happy to show visitors around NYC. Happy surfing :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I'm a pianist and organist, so naturally I LOVE classical music! My favorite composer is Beethoven, and I've been listening to his seventh symphony on repeat lately. Besides that, I'm a huuuuge fan of Lana del Rey.... I have practically grown up on her music. My favorite band is the Strokes. I'll listen to just about anything, and I am always looking for new recommendations.
Movies - My all-time favorites are Cinema Paradiso, Amélie, The Graduate, In the Mood for Love, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish.
Books - My Antonia, Crime and Punishment, Pride and Prejudice
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Staying with Franciscan nuns for two months in rural France!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach/share a lot about history, especially the medieval period! I've read lots and lots of history books, and I'm always happy to talk about what I've learned. I also know my way around NYC pretty well ;)
Really I just want to learn about other people's lives and cultures :) I know I will learn a lot from meeting new people, no matter what they have to "teach" me!
