ABOUT ME
born in the gdr, got to know the federal republic of germany before my second birthday, grew up in the middle of nowhere (but felt fine with it most of the time), moved to berlin after the alternative civilian service, now: trying to be everywhere in this city and not losing my head while doing so...
PHILOSOPHY
„Langweilen tun sich nur Menschen, die selber langweilig sind. Sie müssen sich dauernd auf etwas stürzen, um sich lebendig zu fühlen.“
"Only people that are boring themselves can be bored. They always need to launch into something to feel alive"
(Bukowski)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
only a few but great.
Interests
probably the same as most of you: hanging around with mates, talking about meaningless and important things (without really knowing which is which), doing sports sometimes, drinking tea and beer and lots of coffee...
take a look at those lines that deal with films, music and books... guess that those describe my other interests very well

Music, Movies, and Books
since i've moves to berlin my taste in music got more widepsread. by now I'm even able to listen to electronic music, but not sure if willing too. apart from that my favourite bands (i usually don't use terms like that) are at the drive-in, hot water music, refused, trail of dead, fugazi, jr ewing and more calm stuff like elliott smith, bright eyes, tom waits, modest mouse, chuck ragan. also german bands like muff potter, turbostaat or tocotronic. from songwriter to mathcore, from folk to punk.
while thinking about what to write i recognize, that I spend a lot of my time watching films. I especially like those little stories drawn from life, but sometimes also the excessive and bizarre ones. like: one flew over the cockoo's nest, a clockwork orange, juno, snatch or gegen die wand (fatih akin... currently the most breathtaking german director)
by the moment, my book shelf ist going to consist more and more of books written by sociologists, philosophers and political theorists. for instance bourdieu, adorno and foucault. but I can remember a time, when I used to read more literature. to give a few names: robert merle, heinrich böll, bertolt brecht, t.c. boyle, franz kafka...
