Hi,
I'm Emma, I'm 29 years old. I live in South of France (in Toulon, next to the beach - one hour away from Marseille) with my boyfriend Anthony (32 years old).

Main fact: we are both passionate about food, eating it (obviously !), but also about learning how to cook it. Anthony is really open-minded and will try almost anything new (and I try to keep up) ! We have recently become almost vegetarian (like 95% of meals without meat or fish) for different reasons (health, environment and animal suffering) so we're very open to discover new recipes 🤗

Otherwise we're a nice and rather calm couple, living with our very cute and friendly dog, 3 cats and hens in the garden!

I sometimes (quite often lately) don't receive a notification when you send me a message so don't hesitate to send a 2nd one if you see that I didn't read it !

Ps: if you are German, please talk to me in German and don't leave me another choice haha (English comes easier to me but let's change that!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a traveller, I really want to learn more about the places I go and to me it is essential to get to know the locals in order to do so. I like to discover new cultures, and even if I might be a bit shy sometimes, I think we can have a great time discussing our lives :)

As a host, I basically want to spend some time with you to get to know you, your culture, and ideally we can share meals together (one time we can cook something french, and the next you can show us something from your homeplace !).
Depending on the situation we are also ok to send you on your way to a good restaurant or else. We might also be busy so no pressure for us to spend a lot of time together. I guess it's just about finding the right balance between having a nice time together and being independant :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge netflix fan, but I manage to stop watching series while travelling haha
I don't have a big music knowledge (blind tests are a nightmare to me haha) but I think I'm more a pop/rock / old rock person
And I really like to read, rather "light" readings and thrillers. Recently I started reading some self improvement books which are also very interesting!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's not very original but... All my travels I'd say ! My trip in South East Asia for 2 months was amazing, meeting the locals, discovering the local food, seeing so many breathtaking landscapes and monument... Let's see what's next!!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can help you learn french and english by talking to you, we'd love to cook with you as well (showing you how to do some French food and learning a local one from you).
I'm also getting more and more in a no waste way of life (I'm still really far from it, but making an effort), so I can show you a few basic tips to reduce your carbon footprint if this is something you're interesting in !
I also own quite a lot of board games, so if you like to play you're very welcome!
