I believe human beings shouldn't look up to the sky to find divinity, it's within ourselves. Look around you; we create, we destroy.
I am not religious but am always curious to learn about other peoples religions.

Used couchsurfing to find company and places to stay from Punta Arenas in Chile to Hanoi in Vietnam!

Interests

I am a social worker and I've got many hobbys besides my job. I love to make music, art, food and a good conversation. I love to be outdoors, meet new people or just stay in and watch a great movie. I'm passionate about the forces of nature, I got a thing for black albino people and I'm crazy about furry pets.

I enjoy many types of music but mostly listen to (acoustic) indie and singer/songwriter kind of music. A few of my favorites; Patrick Watson, Nick Mulvey, Ben Howard, Chris Garneau, Jeff Buckley, Jason Mraz, Amusement Parks on Fire, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, Snow Patrol, The Lumineers

Fav writers; Dan Brown, James Redfield, Boudewijn Buch (Dutch), Ronald Giphart (Dutch), Adriaan van Dis (Dutch travel novelist). Currently reading The Rosie Effect.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once having lunch on a riverside near Chitwan, Nepal, when a farmer came by with his elephant and started to wash this amazing animal in the river. No one else was around, accept for me and my camera. The elephant was so calm and enjoying his backrub, the tip of his trunk just a few inches above waterlevel so he could breathe. Won't ever forget this moment!

Another fun memory; my friend Moniek and I were two blondes in Oujda where some people had never seen Europeans in real life before, one day when we were walking down the street a man fell off his bike because he was looking over his shoulder to take a look at us..! Many people wanted to touch us, smell us, feel our skin and hair, and they said things in Arabic like 'they are so cute and funny!', we felt very special :)
