About Me
Hello! My name is Emma, I am a history/politics student (now in a gap year). Before I start my masters back in the Netherlands I am currently working as an au pair in the SF bay area, and trying to see as many beautiful places in the US as possible, and of course to meet the most amazing people from all over the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really enjoy learning from people's first-hand stories about their home countries or experiences in life. I am very curious and eager to learn everything about a new place, but truly believe that you can only get the most out of your trip when asking advice from locals.

Music, Movies, and Books
What music concerns I enjoy classic rock and soul thanks to my father, but also new indie bands. My guilty pleasure is singing Broadway hits when in the shower.
I basically read everything I find, and try to decode every language I encounter.
The last movie I saw was Ladybird and I loved it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left my home country all by myself for a year to see other parts of the world, before I actually want to study that same world and its people in my Masters degree.
Teach, Learn, Share
Dutch language, English language, talking about and discussing books/movies/series/literature/societal and political issues. If you are into music, I would be more than happy to do a jamsession.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A glass of wine, a home-cooked (Dutch) vegetarian meal and some crappy life-advice from the bottom of my heart.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
Netherlands, United States
