ABOUT ME
I love a good laugh! And I have a minor weakness for mountains. If I live in a country for more than 3 months in which there's no mountains, I feel like something's missing and I get this kind of empty feeling. So imagine how it has been to live in probably the flattest country in the world for about 18 years.
Lately I've moved to Barcelona, after living in Las Palmas and before that in Buenos Aires aaaaaand before that in Copenhagen and finally in the south of France, where I lived for about 1 year. And that was the first time I lived abroad. I moved to France to discover the culture and the language. And yes! I know, it sounds really cliché, but it's true. I really love France and I love to travel and to experience new culture and other ways of living than the ones I'm used to. I believe it's important to do these experiences in order to learn and how to fully live and enjoy your life. So this pretty much also sums up why I've been living all these different places (all very different cultures).
I'm also a firm believer that a few months in Sri Lanka won't do you much good for your further understanding of the many varieties of cultures and human behavior in the world. No, you need to settle down and take your time understanding and learning. I don't believe in those short-time world roundtrip-tours where you only travel to the "hotspots" of the world. Seriously, you need to dig a bit deeper than that, please. A world roundtrip should take you the rest of your life, not just a couple of years.
At least, if you do like to "surf" the world like that and you really have a great passion for doing it this way, you'll have my full respect. Just don't claim to know everything about the culture and ideologies of the country.
SO even though, I just made this big speech about traveling, I believe that ofc. any kind of traveling, whatsoever, is healthy and very giving! So just do it - no need to stay in your comfort zone! Get some new perspectives!
And please don't get me wrong, I am really open-minded, probably one of the least judging people you'll ever meet :-)))
PHILOSOPHY
I would rather be poor and love my profession, than be rich and hate my job.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, for the moment I unfortunately don't have the opportunity of sharing my home with anyone, but I will be more than glad to meet for a drink of any kind and have a good talk. I know lot's of beautiful places in the local area of which I'll gladly show you!
Interests
I love music and I love to travel. I also have a weakness for the minor details in life. I love nature and the simple beauty of it and also that there is so much more to it than the eye can observe. I am very very aware of what happens if you don't acknowledge how important and how extremely delicate nature is. And that's why, I have ALOT of ideologies, such as only buying local food, buying as much organic as possible (when having money for it!), recycle, sort the trash etc. I got all these principles after traveling so much and after seeing all these other sides of the world. Other kinds of societies, societies who are truly depended of what nature has to offer, societies and cultures which WILL disappear, if that change isn't coming.
But truth is, that I can't afford any of these ideologies and principles... It's very frustrating ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
"One amazing thing you have seen or done in your lifetime?", this is not possible to answer - how're you supposed to choose just one from so many. I can't even say if there's some which have been better than the others. For me, all experiences (good or bad) are amazing, because you learn from all of them - I don't think I've had one experience of which I haven't learned from... Or actually, I don't think that, I know that. And no, I haven't hiked in the Himalayas and I haven't crossed the atlantic in a homemade boat and seen all the wonders of nature. I have seen many different kinds of wonders; from my little brother taken his first steps, tasting an absolutely amazing glass of wine, to climbing mountains in the alps and see the sun set from the top and sleeping under a black blanket covered with stars, like you'll find no other place in the world. But even the most simple experiences like just having a casual beer with your friend on a simple sunday afternoon, can be the most memorable and giving, and you don't even know why. But sometimes, the small ordinary things are those you'll remember as the most wonderful moments, for the rest of your life.
