I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, it was a happy childhood with lots of swimming, baseball, and bikes. In the winter we go sledding in Chicago, though as I've gotten older the winters aren't so lovely. The voice of Homer Simpson grew up in the same town, that seems important.
I was a late bloomer. I discovered books when Marco handed me On the Road in 2003, since than it's been all downhill. I've worked many jobs over the years, mostly physical. I have a very low tolerance for caffeine and can only drink a little coffee before i start to die. I've seen every movie, ever. The best of which is Willow, but right now I like Todd Solondz. I could walk around the world and just look at the different homes, humans, and trees. I could also live under a table reading Borges. Roberto Bolano said that but I agree.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've surfed couches, railroads, mountains and beaches. I've hosted many different people since I was in college. And NOW i'm joining CouchSurfing.
I got invited to a wedding in Poland some months ago. Since I'm going all the way to Poland I figured I might as well see more of Europe! So I'm stretching the weekend wedding in to a couple months adventure. I've traveled around the USA a lot, and in South America, but haven't really been to Europe except Ireland many years ago. I always stayed in hostels, or camped, or slept near the castle walls, but have never done couchsurfing. I made a good friend in New Orleans who told me about Couchsurfing and have always wanted to try it. So here I go!
I also want to try WWOOF on this trip.
