Overview
About Me
I recently relocated to Austin, Texas, and spent a fantastic year working as a Project Manager for an automotive manufacturing company. My wife, Becca, works as an industrial engineer for a biomedical company and has been in that role for 8 years. She is particularly interested in health tech, especially in the cardiac space.
We are both very active people who love playing ultimate frisbee, riding mountain bikes, and playing sand volleyball at the park. Additionally, we enjoy backpacking, hiking, and camping. I'm also interested in leatherworking and churning credit cards for free travel points.
In November 2024, we are embarking on an 8-month trip from the USA to Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and then onward to Spain, where we will drive a van up to Norway. We’re excited to meet lots of new friends around the world, and we hope you can be part of that!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Becca and I have hosted for several years, but unfortunately have not had the opportunity to host at our space in Austin Texas. We're looking forward to hosting again in 2025!
I do lots of volunteering at the local bike shops, working with primarily street folks and helping them repair their bikes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My primary experience with CS has been both giving and receiving hitchhiking rides around Massachussets and the national parks in the United States.
Interests
I've got 100 hobbies and I'm the master of none.
I love to travel, and plan trips and organize events for myself, my wife, and lots of our friends. I host group campsites and music festivals. We've been to Burning Man in 2024. And we like going to music festivals and have attended Lightning in a Bottle, EDC, Electric Forest and Lucidity several times.
My wife and I are very active and love the outdoors. We camp, climb, hike, ride bikes, go on canyoneering trips and spend a ton of time exploring the woods and deserts of Southern Utah.
I work with programmable LED's and I love making my own festival clothing. I've made light up clothing, and my own leatherwork and leather armor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked with 2 million people in London for an antiwar protest.
I can Unicycle down a mountain. I organized a citywide game of Fugitive. I've run a triathalon, I asked a girl out, and got her to marry me, I studied aboard in Spain, I've hitchhiked into Jordan and spent the night with the bedouins, I've tucked paper slips into the wailing wall in jerusalem. I've been to a music festival in Canada, and several in the USA.
I organize friends into doing big group trips. I make a photo calender of my friends each year.
I've been to Burning Man. I flew 500 drones at once for Drone Light Shows.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach things, even things I just learned how to do. I can help you with your LED programming, You festival costumes, your woodworking projects.
I've got an engineer brain so I love working on projects related to water, wood, gardens, plants, pulleys, boats and more!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My wife and I are great conversations! We know a little bit about a lotta things and love sharing stories.
I can show you how to solder LED's together, or make some leather shoulder pads.
She can teach you how to juggle, or how to hit a volleyball.
