ABOUT ME

i share a birthday with my son, he was born 7-22-2010, which is easy to calculate how old he is now. Then add that to 23 and I can keep track of my own age.

PHILOSOPHY
When I see things written in quotation marks, I, for some reason, don't read them anymore. That being said, the one's below are the one's that come to mind.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain

“The world is a book, and those who don't travel only read one page.” ― Augustine of Hippo

“Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.”
― Maria Montessori

“Establishing lasting peace is the work of education; all politics can do is keep us out of war.”
― Maria Montessori

“Scientific observation then has established that education is not what the teacher gives; education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment.”
― Maria Montessori, Education For A New World

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use it to travel and meet people, and would like to meet couchsurfers in my area but I never have time to go to the events. People who are trusting of strangers within reason and open up their homes to them are generally very awesome, don't you agree?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This may be too much information but... I stood up for myself and as my first act of adulthood helped incarcerate a repeat-hebephile.

Gave birth at home... Although that's not too amazing and people have been doing it forever, many people will assume its amazing. In contrast, it is also amazing to put up with the cursory attitude of doctors and nurses while in the private throws of childbirth. Also, whether you've given birth at home or in a hospital, neither is better than the other so don't feel threatened or offended, Momma's. We're all in this together.
