About Me

With the proceeds of some art exhibitions and as a result of feeling increasingly unhappy living and working in the UK, i sold everything that I and bought a Tipi and a bicycle last year and got a ferry to france. However my cycling buddy and i parted ways and im now on foot (still with the tipi)
I am a tattooist/undertaker by trade so if you want any simple hand poke tattoos doing (hopefully not funeral advice haha) I can possibly help :)
I am also making feather headdresses on the road to help fund my travels so any donations of feathers is also gratefully recieved :D
I love meeting different people and hearing of their upbringing and backgrounds, sharing views and experience and discussing politics and anthropology. I'm looking for answers for.
I spent my winter months in Catalonia before a brief trip back to the UK to see family and now I'm making my way back down through France.
Whilst in Spain I was lucky enough to meet a lot of people occupying spaces in and out of Barcelona and it really opened my way up to a different way of life. I lived in the forest without any resources and felt happier than I've ever been.
I hope to go to Italy and Greece in the new year. I'm trying to spend some time in Europe whilst I still have the freedom as Brexit looms :(

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i am hoping to use couchsurfing to meet amazing people and see places that otherwise might not be open to me. I want to see the real places and learn how the locals do things, the hidden treasures that give a place a personality and make people live there. I totally buy into the mentality of cooperation and sharing of knowledge, resources and experience.
I have hosted travellers myself independently of couchsurfing whilst back in the UK. It touches my heart each and every person that opens their home to strangers and trusts in the power of exchange.

Interests

I'm very interested in art, body art, individuality, personal freedom and current affairs. I also really enjoy helping others and am in no way interested in accumulating personal wealth but more in creating a solid foundation through friendships and protecting my environment. When not in the studio I spent a lot of time out in the countyside walking and enjoying nature and wanted this not to just be a weekend thing but to be immersed in nature always. I am particularly interested in birds and I get super excited when I see a species for the first time ;p

Music, Movies, and Books

Soul and Motown, Heavy Rock, Psy Dub, House. Sometimes some Drum and Bass ha.
Some of my favourite books are historical dramas, particularly those based in the greek classics such as 'Troy', 'The Blood of Achilles' and 'We Goddesses' but then Malorie Blackman's Noughts and Crosses and 'Coram Boy' by Jamila Gavin.
The Tao Te Ching, Siddhartha, Tibetan Book of the Dead
Non fiction re wisdom and advice to the younger generation
Films: Dances with Wolves, Gladiator, the Last Samurai, North and South, Apocalypto, Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard: relative and probably not all that amazing: Giving a speech before two thousand people at UNESCO was one of my personal triumphs as I found public speaking a great source of anxiety.
Also some of the protest marches ive been to....
My artwork exhibitions.
I saw some pretty amazing things working in a funeral home... not necessarily in a morose way. Just the power of love and how we honour it.
Night diving in Egypt was amazing from a wildlife perspective.

Teach, Learn, Share

Conversation, experience, everything! I have lot to learn from anyone and everyone. I hope I can offer something. I'm not a linguist (trying, please help!) or a teacher but I hope that I have a broad scope of experiences to share with others and hopefully we can learn from each other and if you have time I'd love to see what you want to show me of your hometown

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, friendship! And hosting in return wherever I happen to be x
