About Me

CURRENT MISSION

whittle down my world possessions to move across the world.

ABOUT ME

Hmmm, about me. It is difficult to sit here and think of what to say... Simply put I love life and seek to live it to the fullest each day. Sometimes that means taking a book and a blanket down by a stream, reading and sleeping the day away. Sometimes that looks like staying out all night looking for the entrances to the catacombs of a small southern French town. Listening, sharing, growing, creating, communal activities, honest people, these are things I like.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to invest my time in things that make a difference and will last, like extending a kindness to a traveler. Sharing space and time with good friends, or being a friend to someone who needs one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Seeing that I am fairly new to this whole thing, I am contributing by hosting, (when I can, which is a bit difficult right now) be willing to host people around my town, and mainly just being ready to help out a fellow traveler and human being.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed five or six times and hosted three times all of which were good experiences. I am looking forward to couchsurfing more this summer when my schedule allows me some travel time.

Interests

My main interests involve people, stories and adventures. Who are we? What are we doing here in on this little floating rock? I love to discuss anything from the arts to economics. I am an avid reader and enjoy any sort of written art, be it old or new. But as always there is a time for talking and a time for doing! Riding a bike in a European city is always interesting adventure. I also am an avid hiker/walker and climber. Digeridoos. Young Life. I know I spelled it wrong, but unfortunately I am not interested in spelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that tells a good story. Some of my recent favorites are: The Envy Corps, Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Le Petit Prince, anything by Hugo, anything by Rilke, Everything is Illuminated, L'Etrange Histoire de Benjamin Button, Le Vague.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dancing on a rooftop to handclaps and stomps.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I am an avid drawer and crafter, as well as making fun out of nothing. I can cook "American" (really what did we invent when it comes to food?) and I love to learn how to cook new dishes.

Learn: How to set up a slack-line properly. How to climb a multi-pitch route. How to get around better in various European cities, and find better hostels.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, India, Ireland, Kosovo, Lebanon, Poland, Russian Federation, Spain, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Egypt, France, Mauritania, Turkey, United States
